Stacks

The Stacks series combine classic vessel forms with whimsical 'inserts' to create contemporary sculptural designs. Relying on the translucency of glass, these unique compositions explore the interaction of color in the Polychrome Group and the subtle acceleration of color saturation in the Monochrome Group. The assembled forms are inspired by water. The rings are reminiscent of ripples, the lid is of rebounding water drops, and the internal view as a reflection of the whole.

Displaced Aqua

This series uses a powdered color layer that is displaced by applications of clear glass. The entire piece is then encased with clear glass, which seals and magnifies the effect.

Potions

Each vessel is blown with a base color, a crystal layer and an overlay of a second color. After the vessel has been formed and cooled, it is covered with a self-adhesive vinyl mask that has been cut by hand with a knife and leather punches. The original images are created as a 'negative'. The overlay is then cut away by sandblasting.
